One of the most impressive emcee/producers I've stumbled up in the last few years is Michael Nhat. His gritty, unrepentant songs cover the gambit from the sterilizing influence of popular culture and our tendency as humans toward self destruction to musings on hipster girls. He is worth a listen, simply, in that he doesn't sound like much else. Unique is the only word to describe Nhat. Also, check his work with K-the-I??? under the moniker 1000 Apes in a Room.
